In 2017, I was selected to attend the Borlaug Summer Institute on Global Food Security at Purdue University. The Borlaug Summer Institute was a 2-week long program for graduate students to develop a holistic understanding of the conceptual challenges of food security with a focus on cross-disciplinary problem solving of real-world issues.

At the end of the program our teams presented our own solutions to our assigned countries food security issues. I was on team Liberia and below is our solution video. After the Institute we entered our video into the National Geographic Chasing Genius Competition and was selected as a finalist in the People’s Choice Competition.

In my current role at the Plant Variety Protection Office I have been able to use my video creation skills to create this outreach video for the office using Animaker. The video has been used in international meetings to showcase the US plant variety protection system.
